Rumsey 1882

Janet and I took a trip to Ithaca yesterday and walked through a cemetery. I saw this pic in my head as the sun was going down and the shadows casted were just perfect for the mood. The post processing was cumbersome but well worth the time. I gave the background a faux finish with a medium size brush and then layer masked the parts that I didn't want left in. It's a new process that I was reading about but, I kinda like it. Let me know what you think!

i think the post-processing is awesome! has a dreamy effect!
you may want to explore the Orton technique to get really dreamy effect :)

@kairospix: Yes I have seen the Orton effect but, I tend to stay away from plugin's as that makes my work look like everyone else. I like my stuff looking home grown. LOL

I love your models posture. The first thing I thought when I saw the pic was; "Is she dead? Is she praying?" When I read what you wrote, it all made sense. The picture has a dreamy quality to it. It seems to evoke the past even though it is in the present. If it were in sepia or B/W then you would fool some of us into thinking that the picture was taken in 1882. With all that said, I conclude that your pic is superb!

the lady in the picture seems to be fused into the wall, and thus only half of her body is emerging out of the building. dreamy.... seems like she is the elf in a deserted stone house somewhere deep into the forest. very creative!
