I always get a little nervous about converting my images to black and white because most people don't have a calibrated monitor and the conversion ends up blowing the highlights with a monitor using factory settings. I spent about 45 minutes dodging and burning this photo to get it just right. Not something I would do on all my conversions but I really like the facial expression on this little guy

Excellent work Daniel. You've created a nice tonal range here. His expression is really great and a lot of personality comes through. I love the detail in his eyes although the left one seems almost a bit unnatural in the way the light and shadow interact. It's like my eye goes right to the left eye when I look at the image. Maybe darkening it slightly would deemphasize it a little more.

(i would have photoshoped the little something up the lips, under the nose, it catches the eyes unfortunately)
